Do not know what kind of industrial elevator is right for your business operations? Here we tell you! We are following describe the most important characteristics of reciprocating elevators. Discover if it is the right tool to be part of your conveyor system

How reciprocating elevators are selected?

Reciprocating elevators are equipment that can lift or lower products in a unitary way, as happens with a passenger elevator. The selection of one or the other depends completely on the desired rate, the capacity and the type of application that is needed. They are constantly used to lift pallets and boxes.

If pallets are handled in your business, these are some questions you must ask before implementing an application:

  • What dimension will the platform be?
  • How heavy are the pallets?
  • At what height will it be loaded and unloaded?
  • With how many stories do you have?
  • What will be the food and feed?
  • How the input and output from the system will be?

According to the configuration and the capacity of the platform, an application of 2 or 4 masts is determined. However, there is also the option of cantilever type application, which usually handles weights in tons and has industrial safety mechanisms.

On the other hand, if what you require is the lifting and lowering of boxes within your transport system, the questions that you should ask yourself before any decision, are the following:

  • Where will the load come from and where is it delivered?

  • At what height is it loaded and at what height is it delivered?

  • What flow will be managed?

  • What is the weight of the heaviest box?

  • How will the elevator’s input and output will be (by means of conveyors)?

  • How many Kg has the heaviest box?

  • Define the immediate interfaces before and after the elevator within with the equipment.

Usually the reciprocating elevators are placed within the end of line as an integral part of the conveyor systems. We can see this in several companies such as: food and beverages, personal care, pharmaceutical, among others.

You should take into account that an excess in the load capacity (more than 100 Kg) can cause little efficiency, losses and failures of this automated tool. Likewise, your supplier must provide you with a safe maintenance that increases the life of your industrial elevator.
