E-commerce 101 : Find out how it can benefit your company! Part 1

E-commerce or electronic commerce is not only a new form of buying and selling, now it represent an industry that sets trends and sustains global economic.

  • The e-commerce has grown exponentially in recent years worldwide, Mexico is not the exception. The current Mexican client already shows the same level of demand, immediacy and interaction as foreign clients who have the most rooted e-commerce as their way of consumption.
  • More than 80% of companies are candidates to benefit from e-commerce.
  • The United States has the largest number of industries that, after being transnational powers and leaders in sales, have gone bankrupt for not automating their processes and opening their commerce electronically.
  • The industries with the highest sales rates thanks to e-commerce are: electronics, furniture, fashion, tourism and sporting goods.
  • The dates on which the highest purchase rates are recorded in e-commerce are: Christmas, Hot Sale and Good Weekend (Mexican version of Black Friday). Even, the population prepares in advance to spend large amounts of money on these dates.
  • According to the Mexican Electronic Commerce Association, in 2016 e-commerce in our country grew 28.9% compared to 2015. The approximate profits were
    $ 329,800,000 million Mexican pesos. 60% of e-commerce Mexican purchases come from other countries, being the United States the main supplier.
  • Thanks to e-commerce, globalization has expanded and, with this, the entry of products from other cities, which a couple of years ago, would never have had the opportunity to sell what they manufacture.
