If you are hesitating about including the Narrow Belt sortation system in your intralogistics design, we recommend you to read the first part of this guide where you will find all its features and benefits. Let’s get started!
How does the Narrow Belt Sorter work?
The Narrow Belt sorter is characterized by having multiple parallel belts very close to each other which allows to implement mechanisms between the belts and create deviations within the different exits. A high operational level is reached thanks to its multiple belts; in addition to the automated tightening mechanism that turns this system into a gentle technology with low-maintenance levels.
One of the main features of the Narrow Belt sorter is the 90° and 30° exits. This feature allows the product to exit to the left and right with the same driver which results in a greater number of exits.
This kind of system is widely used in pharmaceutical and retail industries where many sortation routes are needed or a significant number of SKU’s need to be sorted after coming out from production lines.
The 30° exits are more common than the 90° because they provide a higher rate. It is important to mention that these are one-way exits only. We invite you to read the second part of this guide where we will discuss the features of 90° and 30° Narrow Belt Sorter.
