Signs that reflect your need to optimize your pallet assembly

pallet_assembly.jpgOne topic that may be significantly complicated is to identify the problems caused in palletizing. This situation can create excessive costs and disadvantages. Therefore, we suggest you analyze the following points to avoid a conflict:

1.- Quality of products embarked on pallets

All producers should reach the customer in perfect condition, either leaving the processing plant or the location of a provider. If the products do not arrive in optimum condition which may be failing it is the arrangement of products. For example, you may be placing heavy items on those without stiffness; or so, canned fluids during the journey or packaging could break and leak, contaminating others.

Another factor that requires care, is to monitor the process of assembling the pallet during loading and unloading to transport, because at this stage of production it tends to be excessive rudeness and neglect in their treatment.

If the volume is too high to handle we can automate the assembly of pallets, including the stretch wrap. If automation is not currently a viable option for your company, we recommend you make a serious and standardized research about care logistics and assembly, and stretch wrap that your pallets require.

2.- Supply errors: Returns

If in your warehouse you have a large number of returns it may be due to two reasons: poor product quality or errors in supply.

For the second, it is necessary to review the logic of the pallet load and be supported by technological tools that enable you to eliminate those mistakes. Sometimes, introducing reading guns or indicators displays will be more than fair; some other times you will need to thoroughly review the entire process and redesign it.

3.- Your logistics cost is very high

Your logistics cost is high if logistics costs are reported above the benchmark of your industry. Should be reviewed in the first instance, the costs of transport and storage; not to mention the assortment and assembly of pallets.

Similarly, you should analyze and optimize the assembly time standards in your industry. Logistics has reduced margins due to increased supply. All of this commits you to being more productive and competitive.

In GIEICOM we give advice to streamline all the processes involved in your distribution center. If you need more information to optimize the assembly of your pallets, contact us and we will be in touch with you shortly.
