## **What is robotic picking?**

Robotic picking is one of the most versatile order fulfillment solutions, since it can be used for assortment of parts, boxes, layers, or pallets.

This system can be designed to fixed positions so that the robot can move to the locations of the products or it can be programmed so that the products are the ones that move to the robot.

Whichever mode you choose, the function of robotic picking will be to pick the corresponding orders, and then place the products in their respective order consolidation area.

It should be noted that these solutions are supported by sophisticated vision systems, with which the robot analyzes the position of the product to determine the best way to take it without damaging it.

 

## **Types of robotic picking**

 

- **Picking by piece/unit.** In this application, the products are presented in boxes and the robot executes the picking of items.

- **Picking by layers.** In this application, the function of the robot is to take the products from the pallet of a single SKU with several layers of layers, to place them on a multiproduct pallet or rainbow pallet.
