The sorter that supports wrap-shrink film in Food and Beverage industry

wrap_shrink_film_food_beverage.pngUsually food and beverage industries spend a lot in boxing their products; nowadays, they use wrap-shrink film. Wrap-shrink film allows keeping packing patters of 6, 8 or 12 pieces; besides, it reduces processes’ expenses and timing.

How are these products transported?

Plastic belts are used for transporting these kind of products to the area where is handled. During this process, thorough care must be taken so the products are gently moved and the plastic is not damaged.

The most common sorter in these industries is the shoe sorter. This technology allows a safety product handling provided that a completely even surface is used for moving the products in order to avoid them to get stock in the belt. The shoe sorter provides an effective deviation without damaging the wrap-shrink film; however, an aluminum bottom is needed as support for avoiding jumps and falls. There is a slightly lateral contact when the product is deviated but thanks to its aluminum surface, the plastic is not sticked. This sortation system is able to separate products as their barcode is read.

It is important to mention that not all shoe sorter system have these features; therefore, a previous analysis of product flows must be performed in order to select the appropriate sorter that provide all the above mention features.
