Normally the food and beverage industries invested a very high cost to add boxes to their products, currently resorting to the use of heat shrink wrap. The heat shrink allows to keep the product in accommodation patterns of 6, 8, or 12 pieces; also, do not generate so many expenses or extra time in the processes.
How are heat shrink packages transported?
To transport this type of product, we use belt conveyors or plastic belt systems, which take the product to the area where it will be handled. During this process, must take care the product does not move much or better have smooth movements, to avoid deformation of the plastic.
The mostly used sorter for this type of industry is the shoe sorter. This technology allows a safe handling of the product, as long as the package have a completely flat surface allowing to divert the product and nothing gets incrusted in the plastic. The shoe sorter generates a positive divert and ensures that nothing obstructs the lower part of the heat shrink; However, must have an aluminum surface that gives stability to avoid jumps or falls. By diverting the product a brief lateral contact is made and thanks to its aluminum surface, it does not adhere to the plastic. This classification system allows to separate the products when reading the barcode.
It is important to emphasize that not all shoe sorter systems achieve these skills, that is why it is important that each industry carries out a previous analysis and flow of its products and the selected classifier offers the described characteristics.
